The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to harmonize the human resource development on the construction industry in the country in light of the government’s flagship infrastructure program, Build, Build, Build. Under the Construction Industry Roadmap 2020-2030, the need for the construction industry workforce increases to an estimated total of 3.9 million skilled workers in the 10-year plan. The MOU supports the roadmap by providing free construction training courses to those who wish to work in the industry. The MOU will also serve as an opportunity to provide better and quality trainings to the construction workforce as these two agencies continue to develop programs that are needed for the continuous improvement of the Philippines’s construction industry. Sec. Ramon M. Lopez and Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña signed the MOU for the DTI-CMDF and TESDA, respectively.
